Players Really Like One Of My Guitars

I have received many positive comments on how nice this guitar I play at some open stages sounds and playsfender-stratacoustic-premier-flame-mapleacoustic-fishman-preamp-with-built-in-tuner. It is a Fender Stratacoustic Premier. I preferred the sunburst over the solid colors. In its November issue, Acoustic Guitar magazine pays tribute to the Stratocaster, “the reigning king of electric guitars,” and then reviews the new Stratacoustic Premier.

“Plug in the StratacousticPremier, with its Fishman Isys III pickup system and active onboard preamp and tuner, and the beauty of this guitar unfolds in a wash of warm, round clean tones,” writes Greg Cahill. “Add the rosewood-based vintage-style Fender ‘Viking’ bridge with compensated Graph Tech Nubone saddle, and the Stratacoustic is an acoustic-electric tone machine. Indeed, played through a modded, 1999 Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, this guitar sounds more like a thinline Telecaster than its namesake solid-body Stratocaster.

“With the built-in three-band EQ set to neutral, the Stratacoustic settles easily into rock, blues, funk, and even jazz grooves. The 1.69-inch nut width is exceedingly comfortable. Stomp on a BOSS Blues Driver BD-2 pedal, dig into Neil Young’s ‘Powderfinger,’ and marvel at the Stratacoustic’s ringing harmonics. Switch to Mermen-style psych-surf and the results are no less impressive under the influence of a Danelectro Fab distortion pedal (a cheap fave) and an MXR Carbon Copy analog delay.”

Pick up the November issue to read the full review.

Unfortunately Fender did not sell enough of the Premier to continue production. They also produced a Telecoustic Premier. Besides some cosmetic differences, the Premier models featured a USB connector to interface direct to a computer. Here is a link to the Fender website and their current model.                                                                                                                       http://shop.fender.com/en-US/acoustic-guitars/stratacoustic/standard-stratacoustic/0967300006.html
